Now this is what Nokia really intended. Here is another recycling bin at Powerplant mall, right in front of the Nokia shop.

What happened?

Why was the recycle bin in Market Market used as an ordinary bin?
I think it was just the awareness (or lack of) of just one or two people who started throwing ordinary trash into the bin. Then, by visual example, people started throwing ordinary trash as well.

I think this shows how some people can be “spaced out”, sometimes leading their life unconsciously.

As Steve Pavlina would exhort: “Live consciously!”

1. At some point in my life, I was: a volunteer Physics teacher, systems integrator, instructor in Phil Mil Academy, trainer, product manager.
2. I had a childhood teddybear named “Dencio”
3. Some of my eyelashes are misaligned after a dog bit my face when I was 6 years old.
4. Over the past 3 years, I developed a passion for reading books. I just finished reading “The Way of the Peaceful Warrior” by Dan Millman.
5. When I test a computer keyboard, the words I instinctly type first are: “in the beggining, ” ….
6. I had hallucinations caused by high fever when I got sick as a child. The hallucination involved a big round boulder around 10 feet in diameter that kept rolling toward me (then would rewind just when it was about to run me over).
7. I could play the piano. I’d listen to Suzanne Ciani or Jim Chappel and figure out how to play their pieces, just by listening.
8. I’ve been to South Africa, Malaysia, China, Canada, the US, Hongkong, Singapore and (in my dreams) the Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
9. I liked the movie “In the mood for love”
10. I like sunrises, sunsets, I like watching the moon and the stars. Did you see the moon smiley the other night?

I’ve always found online travel guides useful before going on a trip, especially when its my first time in another country. A nice guided tour around the new place gives you the “basics” of a place, making sure you don’t miss out on any of the important places a tourist *must* go to. It gives you a good idea of the layout of a place, and lets you go into more details if you want at a later time.

When I went to the US last year, my uncle treated me to a grand tour of Los Angeles. It was an interesting way to get to know the city. And I got to meet some interesting folks down there while on the tour. Putting me on the tour was a good way to make sure that I got a good taste of LA, and in style!

The package tour I got was a whole-day bus tour that took us on a grand tour of Los Angeles, around Hollywood, the Hollywood Bowl, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Sunset Blvd, Beverly Hills, The museum row, and the Farmer’s market.

The Farmer’s market was a favorite for me. I got to taste some Middle East food prepared by a Filipina cook who’s been working there for a couple of years.

If I had more time, I would have liked to take a tour inside some of the museums and markets. But one day is definitely not enough to digest all these.

We ended the tour with a walk at the Olvera Street – a nice Mexican pueblo with a whole lot of interesting sites and sounds. Captured a couple of interesting mirror projects down there.

I remember playing the role of Marcos when I was in elementary. I was grade 5 during the People Power EDSA Revolution in 1986. I remember Kidlat and Chavi and Christine going to the rallies along session road.

I remember three years before that, watching TV, wanting to see what all the fuss was about this guy coming in a plane at the airport. My mom explained that he was Ninoy Aquino and he was a brilliant former-senator of the Philippines. My parents didn’t tell us much about politics back then. I think I learned more about Ninoy and Marcos from Kidlat and Chavi who were often seen at the rallies against Marcos.

I remember watching the news on our small Sony Trinitron TV. It was August 21, 1983.

At one point, people started to cheer on Ninoy Aquino at the entrance of the airport. But it turned out it was Butch Aquino whom they thought was Ninoy.

Then Ninoy’s plane touched down. The next thing we knew, Harry Gasser (the news caster at RPN 9( was stuttering when he announced that gunshots were fired upon the arrival of Ninoy Aquino. And that Ninoy was assassinated.

Ninoy’s death triggered one of the highlights in the history of the Filipino people. When Filipinos were walking side-by-side, without prejudice against the poor, the weak. It was a brilliant time for the Philippines.

Thank you Ninoy, for bringing Filipinos together as one, once upon a time.

I remember playing the role of Marcos. And I was embarrassed. But quite cute in that panama hat. .

For an un-explained reason, I am extremely moved by the Olympics, specifically by the opening and closing ceremonies. (See more videos below!)

I think it’s because of the coming together of the world in a celebration of human excellence and peace. It’s quite overwhelming to see such a spectacle. It moves me!

And since I don’t have a TV, and was busy last night, I wasn’t able to watch the opening. I’ll just have to settle for YouTube.

The callvocal.com url, when I visited it today, displays the Pacific Internet corporate website, though. Looks like Pacific Internet is the Philippine partner of an International carrier-grade VoIP service by Pacnet.

Whew! I found a clipping of the launch. I wonder why I haven’t been hearing much about Vocal. Pacific Internet doesn’t seem to be very vocal about the service.

This is a watch passed-on to me by my brother. And every friday night, I have sex! hahaha!

That’s because the date and day of my watch changes close to midnight.
And “Sex” is short for “Friday” in another language which I haven’t figured out until today.
