This opportunity is for people who would like to make money by selling airtime load and other similar services.
This is also for people who consume a lot of load and would like to economize through discounts.

There’s a business opportunity called Load Mo Sarili Mo or “LMSM”. From the information I gather from different interviews and flyers I’ve seen, LMSM is basically a different way of distributing airtime load across the Philippines.

LMSM - Load Mo Sarili Mo

LMSM uses a “member-gets-member” concept. The member becomes a load fund reseller and enjoys 3-5% discount.

After the jump, take a look at the LMSM slide presentation, earning opportunities, advantages, membership types and more. Also see details of the Grand Launch of LMSM.

Advantages

Simple and straightforward ( single product, which is “eload”, single network, which is “Smart”)

Fast, efficient and convenient self-loading, anytime/anywhere

Product is highly consumable and is actually considered basic commodity.

Open to international membership since Filipinos abroad also use SMART airtime through roaming Pinoy SIMs and Plug N Talk

You get the full commission which you don’t have to share with a downline because your downline has its own allocation of commission.

Provides web access for online registration, load fund checking, genealogy checking/tracking

Membership types range from Regular, Bronze, Silver, Gold and OFW members. Depending on the type of membership, they get a combination of one or more of the following items upon registration: Activation ID, load fund, handouts, SIMs, handouts, Smart Bro kits, Plug n’ Talk kit.

Earning Opportunities include commissions, one-time referral fees and earnings from the stockist program.

Payout Methods include: Load Fund, Cheque, Smart Money or Bank Account

Dear friends,

When I began Technobiography in 2004, I just wanted to write about technology and how it affects my life.

So much has changed since 2004. And it’s time for me to make a change and take this blog to the next level. I have decided to tighten the theme of my blog around the niche of How to Make Money with Mobile.

Mobile Millionaire - Make Money with Mobile

I reached this decision at the Maven Secrets Program by Anton Diaz, especially with the inspiration of Kid blogger Carl Ocab (Make Money Online with a 13 year old kid blogger). When I met Carl, I half kidding when I declared “When I grow up, I want to become like Carl Ocab”. :-)

Thus, begins my transition from Technobiography to www.MobileMillionaire.Net .

Mobile Millionaire – Make Money with Mobile

Mobile Millionaire about helping people Make Money with Mobile. I’ll be writing about many ways of using the mobile phone to earn money, including

selling airtime load

mobile advertising

having a cellphone service

creating an application or game

mobile commerce

or even doing business with the help of mobile.

Many of these topics are not new to me. For instance, I’ve been writing a lot about mobile commerce in the past 5 years. There are so mechanisms for making money with mobile. I’d like to help my readers discover the many ways to make money with mobile.

But more than making money, I also want to talk about Creating Wealth with Mobile.

True wealth goes beyond money. In a seminar called PSI (People Synergistically Involved), I learned that True Wealth is what we have that cannot be destroyed nor diminished without our permission. True wealth includes our knowledge, our skills, our talents, our network of friends and much more that we have inside of us.

Creating Wealth with Mobile means enhancing our knowledge, our skills, our talents or maintaining our connection with our network of friends. Thus, I will also be talking about how to use the mobile to

gain knowledge, skills or talents through mobile ebooks, audio books, applications or the mobile web

nurture connections with our friends through mobile web or a plethora of applications

Through articles on this blog Mobile Millionaire, I aim to help my readers Make Money with Mobile and Create Wealth with Mobile.

Help me help you . Let’s make this world a better place.

I remember my friends at Intel being part of the WiMax testing back in circa 2005/2006 . Glad to know it’s now reaching the masses … slowly but surely.

I hear they’re offering trial accounts in selected areas

I hear (again) that they’re giving a guarantee of internet speeds of 2Mbps at P999 . That’s fast and cheap.

The modem is rather big. It’s nomadic — meaning it can be transferred from one place to another, but it will not work *while* it’s being moved.

Facts about 4G
wi-tribe uses 4G because it is the future of broadband technology the entire world is moving towards.

4G (Fourth Generation) is the class of technologies that delivers hi-speed broadband and multimedia services and applications.

In contrast, 3G is voice technology that is being used for some internet applications like small screen applications and casual surfing.

Facts about 4G in a broadband application:

4G is broadband that delivers true wired speeds without wires.
4G is faster because it has more bandwidth.
4G is completely portable so you can enjoy it in your office, so you can bring it to your favorite coffee-shop, or your hang out.
4G is 3 times faster than 3G technology.
4G is the preferred broadband technology that will give you the richer, pleasurable internet experience you truly deserve.

I’ve been updating my wordpress blogs the past weeks.

On www.edwinsoriano.com, I was trying to update one of my widgets. But when I click “save” on the widget, I kept getting this error:

Are you sure you want to do this?

Please try again.

After many attempts and getting the same result, I did a Google search for “Wordpress error are you sure you want to do this“. Most of the results had to do with Wordpress MU which I wasn’t using.

I was able to fix the error on my own. I found that if I deactivate one of my plugins, I no longer get the error.

Here’s how I did it:

In Wordpress, Go to Plugins section

Deactivate ALL plugins

Test if updating your widget now works.

3.a. If widget update works, it means one of your plugins is causing the error. –> Proceed to step 4.

3.b. If widget update still doesn’t work, it means the error is *not* caused by a plugin. –> I have no other solution so far.

RE-Activate your plugins one by one, each time checking if widget updating still works.

When you find a plugin that, when reactivated, causes the widget updating to have an error — REJOICE! You’ve found the erring plugin.

5.a. Update this plugin or revert to older versions of the plugin. See if that works.

OR

5.b. Deactivate this plugin.

Repeat step 4 until all other plugins are reactivated.

Now I’m a happy puppy because I found a solution for the error in www.edwinsoriano.com . Hope the solution above can help other bloggers too.

One post-script, though. I’m encountering the same problem in www.technobiography.com . And the above solution isn’t working — I get the scenario 3.b. where the plugins do not cause the error.I’ll try in a while: reverting to basic theme. Let’s see if that works.

Worked like a charm for me. For both www.edwinsoriano.com and www.technobiography.com .

I got this information via email on how Pinoys use mobile apps and online apps. I made sure from the source whether I could share the information. Glad to pass on the information to help readers understand where the Mobile Apps market is like and where it’s headed. There are two studies in the files below.

The first is how Pinoys use Mobile Apps. The second is What Pinoys do Online.

How Pinoys use mobile Apps

Among the top usage of Mobile Apps are m-commerce, MMS, ringtones, gaming and infotainment. Of course Txt Messaging is used by many more subscribers, it’s included in the table further below just for comparison. Other items in the list are Graphics, Music, Email Msg, Mobile TV/ video, Mobile IM, 3G Sub (just for comparison).

Philippine Mobile Apps Users 2009 (click to see full image)

Where is the market headed? The projections show growth in 3G handsets, m-commerce and MMS. Not sure I agree about the last, but we’ll see.

Philippine Mobile Apps Users 2009 - figures (click to see full image)

The second study is What Pinoys do online. On the top of the list is email, chatrooms and playing games. This information is rather dated (2008).

Other items on the list include: Playing games, Download pictures, Download games, Academic study/research, General browsing, Download music/ MP3, Video conferencing, Listening to online radio, Download videos, Sports

I have previously written about mobile and online services of Phihealth.

There was the Philhealth mobile service that let’s you access your Philhealth number and other details. Read my Philhealth article on Pinoytechblog. And I also wrote on eOFW.net about healthcare through Philhealth online .

Thus, it’s a pleasant addition to Philhealth’s e-government services to see that Philhealth individually-paying members can now make Philhealth payments using their mobile phone and their airtime load.

Philhealth Remittance-by-Air

Dubbed “Remittance-by-Air”, members can send their P100 monthly contribution from the convenience of their own home.

To complete a transaction, members must ensure that the mobile phone they are using has an existing credit of at least P115.

Members have to type PHICPhilhealth identification number (PIN) [Ex. PHIC 120123456789] and send it to 7442.

The system will send back the PIN with the corresponding name of the member for confirmation. If the name is correct, the member will be required to reply PHICYES to 7442.

Upon completion of the transaction, the amount of P115 will be deducted from the member’s phone load. P100 of the total amount will cover the premium for one month, while the remaining P15 will pay for transaction fee.

The member will then receive a thank you note and the reference number as proof of payment. This service is available for Smart and Talk N Text subscribers.

What’s interesting is that even OFWs will be able to avail of this service using a mobile phone with roaming service.

The new data plans give you more hours at a more affordable rate:

We’re up!

Until 2008, Facebook’s SMS service was available only within US and Canada.
This year, Facebook opened up the service to other countries.
The Philippines can now avail of Facebook’s Mobile SMS service.

I’ve been testing the service since last week. I find it highly streamlined and intelligent. The available commands, the follow-up replies and the control of how much/little you want are very well thought out. I like how the service makes the next logical transaction easily available for the user.

Facebook Mobile SMS

It’s been an awesome past many months for me. Although I haven’t been blogging about all that’s been happening in my life, specifically my technology life or “Technobiography”, I’ve been happy being involved in many awesome activities that have been truly life changing.

The typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng crashed through the Philippines. We saw how Filipinos can band together if we choose to do so. I took a few trips to Baguio and I was there right smack between Ondoy and Pepeng. Took another trip to Baguio after Pepeng to document some of the relief activities.

And through all these, I’ve been steadily keeping up-to-date with the goings on through the help of technology. Here’s how technology has helped me help others in the past months.

Keeping posted

When the typhoon hit Manila on September 26, Saturday, I made my way from Quezon City to Makati. I wasn’t expecting the typhoon to cause so much havoc. And as we took one route and then another and then another because we were hitting flooded roads, I finally reached the MRT which was working well. I kept up-to-date via Twitter @ka_edong with the disaster that was unfolding. I access Twitter via a Nokia N82 loaded with TweetS60 . It was good for getting news of the floods around the metro.

Citizen Reportage

As I was making my way through EDSA on the MRT, I started taking photos of the traffing and uploaded them via MMS to ping.fm . I had a photo of what was later re-labelled as “the world’s biggest parking lot” (thanks @jimayson).

As I was tweeting from the MRT, I saw a half submerged bus on the Northbound lane of EDSA in front of Camp Aguinaldo. I circled back because I wanted to share to the world what was happening in the Philippines. I got ready with a mobile video through qik.com.

And now I have my most widely viewed qik video: Half submerged bus .

Half Submerged Bus

Search for missing people through Google Docs

I spent much of Saturday indoors, but braved the floods in the early evening to visit family. My batteries were dead by this time from tweeting and qiking. When I got back home, our condo did not have any electricity. I went to the nearby Mini Stop and charged my phone with the vending machine . Then got myself some tweets.

And then I realized the extent of the flooding. I was seeing tweets from all over asking for rescue in Marikina and Antipolo. People were frantically passing on the appeals for rescue with the hopes that others would be able to rescue. It was heart-wrenching just seeing names and situations of people from the screen of my phone. I had to do something.

There was all this info flying around via twitter, facebook and SMS. It was important to get all this information down pat in one location so that people would have a place to report and rescuers had a reference of where to rescue (of course there was so much help needed, rescuers just went to the nearest place they were needed).

Thus was born the Rescue Hub (http://tinyurl.com/RescueHub) . The Rescue Hub was the very first initiative that organized information about the typhoon, specifically rescue information. I put together a spreadsheet using Google Documents. Created columns which people can populate with their own set of information. It had to be an open document which anyone can edit.

When the spreadsheet columns were in, I sent a google chat to @arnoldmagno first: “Bro, work with me” . It was my first online invitation for BAYANI-han! When I saw Arnold populating the spreadsheet without any questions, that meant the spreadsheet was clear enough. I spread the word via twitter: “Guys, work with us. http://tinyurl.com/RescueHub” . Then, on the spreadsheet, within just a few minutes, there were more than a dozen people inputting data into the spreadsheet. These were reports of people needing rescue.

It was spine-tingling – nakaka-pangilabot! On one hand, we found a way for people to rally together for the same cause and help Filipinos in need of rescue. On the other hand, it was scary how sooo many people needed so much help. It was doubly frightening when I saw my officemate’s name on the spreadsheet. Seeing my friend’s name on that rescue spreadsheet made this typhoon disaster so real to me.

Once Lost, now Found

The morning after, I logged on to twitter and to the RescueHub to find out how the Philippines was doing. The sun peeking through the clouds but the floods were still there. And Filipinos were just starting to understand the extent of the damage. I saw over the tweets that people were now looking for missing people. I added a new spreadsheet to the RescueHub where people can report missing friends/relatives.

A friend, Franklin Naval, took on the role of mapping out the many addresses that were on the RescueHub. That became a tool for people to understand better visually *where* the help was needed.

Over the next few days, I monitored the spreadsheet from Baguio, cleaned it up when I had the chance and more importantly kept tabs on how many reports were being closed. I wanted to track how many people were being rescued, found or reported safe.

Ka Edong @ BAYANI-han article of Manolo L. Quezon

I was pleased to find out a via Facebook that Manolo mentioned me in one of his articles about how I and many other contributed to the relief efforts, BAYANI-han style. Of course my mom had a newspaper clipping of the article (thanks ma!). Other friends told me that they heard Manolo mention my name on his TV program, the Explainer. Yes, friends, that was me.

Ka Edong on mlq3's Article

ka edong on manolo's Inquirer article

It reads:

There were Edwin Soriano, and others who established another Google document (“Rescue InfoHub Central”) that allowed people to list cases of people requiring help and rescue (an SOS subpage); to the extent that cases could be evaluated (a Missing/Found People subpage) regarding the threat level to life and limb represented by each case, and the progress of rescue efforts tracked, too. With so many people in so many places requiring help, concerned family members and friends could focus their energies on reporting cases, while volunteers could identify where and how they could effectively help (Emergency Numbers and Where/How to Donate/Help Pages).

And there were thousands of Filipinos who stepped up and just helped, without question, without asking for anything in return. I continue to hear stories of heroism from so many people.

Now, where do I find a non-political page where Pinoys recognize the heroes among us? Which website is it? I want to read more!

Proud Pinoy!

That is why I am so proud to be a Filipino! Because there is something great in us and nobody can take away the greatness in us.

“I prayed to God that Filipinos recognize their greatness! And then God gave us Ondoy! Awesome God!”
