FREE Txt Blast from Smart

February 18th, 2008 | by ka edong |

Did you ever have to text hundreds of your contacts when you changed cellphone numbers? Smart has a service that does this for you.

I received a text message from Smart one fateful day (name and numbers masked for privacy):

From: Smart
Message: SMART ADVISORY: This is to inform you that Felicity V. Cruz  has changed cellphone number from 0917538xxxx to 0920535xxxx.

Interesting service, ain’t it?  I checked my phone book and true enough, the old number matches my phonebook’s record of Felicity’s number. I asked Felicity how she availed of this service.

Felicity tells me it’s a free txt blast service by Smart. Just go to their wireless center and have a soft copy in excel of your phonebook. In Felicity’s case, she just gave Smart a USB stick, they downloaded it and took charge of sending the message to all recipients in the phonebook regardless of network of the recipient.

That’s convenient. A lot better than having to send the message to hundreds of your contacts.
