On Pinoy.Tech.Blog, I write about Gmail for your mobile phone. Here’s an update…
I noticed a handful of other countries in the sign-up page drop-down list. There were only around a dozen countries in the list. I was pleased to see Google had put the Philippines in their shortlist of countries for this initial offering.
The list includes
- Australia
- Indonesia
- Malaysia
- New Zealand
- Philippines (Pilipinas)
- Singapore (Singapura)
- Thailand
- Turkey
- United States
I did receive my activation code when I attempted the service yesterday. But I haven’t seen Gmail Mobile in action. Partly because I’m not sure how much I’ll be charged. (probably only for GPRS charges of P.25 / kb).
Will try it out soon.

i use mobile gmail on my pda. ang bilis compared to the normal gmail. ayos the ayos when i’m outside and near a hotspot.
Nice. Your PDA has wifi. My Brosia smartphone uses gprs. So far, I limit my mobile email to just urgent emails, and only outgoing. I’ve chosen to *not* check email on my mobile — largely because of the cost.
