Lenovo-IBM has a battery recall (the third(?) major recall of Sony-manufactured batteries). But it turns out, *not* all batteries with the announced part-numbers are being recalled.
Here’s a website that helps Lenovo or IBM laptop users determine whether their batteries are included in the recall.
There’s an exe file that can be downloaded from the website and run for automatic detection. It will tell you whether your battery is indeed included in the battery recall.
Side note: It’s not often that I see international sites offering a Tagalog version of a page. Here’s an excerpt of the recall announcement written in Tagalog:
Nagmamahal,
ka edong

hello! can we exchange links????? you have a nice website here!!!
batirya.. :~)
I would never buy Thinkpads again. It’s been almost 8 weeks and still no replacement battery and the worst customer service ever. You call the IBM tech support they bounce you to Lenovo sales and then Lenovo bounces you back to IBM and basically you get nowhere. Poor way of making up for the company’s own error and only aggravating the consumer even more. DO NOT BUY FROM THINKPAD/LENOVO!
