Smart Bro Quickfix Internet Connection Diagnosis

In this podcast, I’m going to talk about Smart Bro Quickfix.
Smart Bro Quickfix is an application that can be downloaded at the smart website; it’s a diagnostic application that you run when you’re having problems with your Smart Bro connection. It advertises a one button diagnosis so you will be able to check the internet connection of your Smart Bro. You’ll be able to check things like:
- Latency
- Trace route
- Ping
- Speed test

It also has the announcement and feedback modules so that you can communicate more easily with Smart Bro technical support. It also has some announcements where smart bro will be announcing new features, promos or bill payments schedule.
I’m downloading Smart Bro Quickfix right now. I haven’t been having any problems with SmartBro so I haven’t tried Quickfix but I like the idea. It’s a good idea for Smartbro to come up with this; it’s just a matter of whether it works and whether it works for the customers.
But it’s a good idea, it helps Smart Bro lessen the burden on all the many calls I’m sure they get from their customers. It’s also good for the customers -it lessens the stress of having to figure out what the problem is with the Smart Bro connection.

ask ko lang po. pano maayos ung nadidisconnnect na internet connection ng smartbro namen.. sometimes kasi nasa kalagitnaan kana ng chatting then suppriselingy it began to be disconnect..the twopc monitor on my taskbar the light dissappearing nor blinking.then i do the restart or the plugin plugout situatuion, but aint able to be.wala d na makabalek sa connection.. how you may suggest for my problem

Tama kayo mga subscribers, kagaya ko agent pa naman di ako nagpakabit ng smartbroken na yan.Ang dami kung nabasa halos Mga Negative Comments about this broadband service.Kahit mga Clients ko wala pang 1 week ayon txt ng txt sa akin wala daw connection.As an agent alam ko lahat tungkol sa wireless internet or wireless networking.I do have my own wireless setup like as bridge…configuring the canopy settings, Ip dynamic Ip, router, sharing, etc etc. At ito mga SmartBroken…Nagshare kayong lahat sa isang server yun ang reason bumabagal yung connection nyo..lahat nang Pc users ngayon marunong ng magdownload.1 cellsite has 6 servers on it..kaso pag ikaw ay napunta sa server na doon marami ang user na mahilig mag download don ka mabubwisit.Kahit nga wired connection bumabagal pa naman, how much more if it is wireless tapus shared pa.1 server 384kbps lagay natin 20 users lang tapos 10 users doon mga mahilig mag download…hahahahaha.Ito ang sabi ni Smart 384kbps..yun ang speed advertized speed nila..hindi 384kbps per subscriber…384 pinaghatihati ninyo lahat ang server na may 384 bandwidth at isa pa walang CIR o commited Information Rate na binigay ni Smart..so pag downtime talagang down ang speed mo hanggang 2kbps.So dapat magbigay cla nang CIR kahit half of the advertzd sped nila pwedi na.If you want to have internet connection with CIR subscribe to smart corporate o enterprise edition 388kbps with CIR at email add at php 2,200 or 588kbps @ php6,200/months yun talagang may CIR at both has its own Dynamic IP, kagaya ng Bro na yan Static IP lang yan naka DHCP kasi shared bandwidth at connection.. Ano ? did you get my point?I hope malinaw lahat so if your planning to get 1 then accept the conditions.If you are an IT or a computer wizard make sure you know your canopy IP at saka Server IP para naman ma check mo always yung connection mo.

ay nako.. wala nmn magagawa ang quick fix na ito kung sakal man may problem na sa connection nyo. paggamit nyo nito at the end contact costumer rep. rin ang sasabihin… buti sana kung gumagawa agad ng action ang mga field eng. nila.. eh wala eh.. siguro sakakatawag ko sa kanila naka 10 service report number na ko na galing sa kanila… at ala parin nangyayari… tataposin ko nalng siguro contract ko dito.. din lipat iba nalng…

yung sa gumawa ng QuickFix, sana magawan mo ng paraan na yung winsock connection mo to smart will connect to 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.224.1 and perform a quick diagnostic of the account and the canopy.
Kasi nagtataka ako, sinasabi ng quickfix software na hindi maka konek directly sa smart even if yung given ip ay na pping..
Right now, for the first time, nag down ang smartBro ko, within a span of less than 1 month. Grabe, totoo pala na ang mga negative comments ay totoo pala. Worst comes to worst ipapa putol ko na ito within this week, habang covered pako ng 30day rebate..
Masipag lang magpasok ng mga new installs ang smart, pero pag may account kana, BAHALA kana sa BUHAY mo. f**k tlga.

Hi guys, try backreading some of the comments… may nagpost na developer daw sya ng quickfix. so malamang nababasa nya mga hinaing natin (kasi ako di rin nakakagamit ng quickfix — sayang sa promo nila dati).
although hinay hinay lang ha.. being in the same profession as the developer hindi biro ang gumawa ng software. although sana nga gumagana sa vista. LAWL
dun sa mga nag eerror na installations, etc. kung sa vista nag error talagang walang magagawa to fix it. (unless maglabas bago version ang smart: macadamia are you there yet?)

smart bro f gud sa mga nagtitipid.. aaminin ko mhina nga ang smartbro.. pero dpt nung nagpakabit kau/ kung magpapakabit kau here are some checklist::
1.(eto npakaimportante) be sure to inspect in ur area na my malapit na tower ng smart, kc wireless yan so aasa yan sa tower ng provider nia..
2. f u want to reach 300+kbps conection in ur pc must be gud to..amd 3000+ ur higher/p4 2ghz or higher.. 512-1 gb of ram.. pra tlga mabilis din un programs n magagmit. khit mabilis ang conection kung mabagal ang pc wla din. mas ok pa ung mabilis ang pc na my mbgal na conection..
3. pag mabagal tlga palit kau ng DSL wahahahaha…
sa experience ko lng ang importante MALAPIT KAU SA TOWER NG SMART. kc ako ang smartbro ko ginagamit ko sa cafe 7 units pa… mga customer ko mhilig pa yan sa mga OL games.. pero cympre mhina to pg my mga youtube/or any downloads.. sa akin restrict ang mga sites na my mapapanood, downloads etc. so no problem ako sa smartbro ok nmn.. nsa diskarte lng yan,kc 384kbps mbilis nrin yan kung kya mong idiskarte. kc ako nkakapagDL pa ako habng naglalaro cla ng OL games no hustle..so un lng..check no. 1 pinakaimportante po yun… pero cympre ipapacut ko rin to pag nagdagdag na ako ng pc ko. d nia n kakayanin. ^_^ pero kong iisa lng po mo.. ok ang smartbro

ask ko lang kung ano magandang broadband connection? right now we are using PLDT weroam in the office (3mbps), so far wala naman kaming naging problema kaya lang 1 PC lang ang nagagamit namin. In 2 weeks time magpaparenovate kami ng clinic and gusto ng boss ko magkaron ng internet access all 5 PC’s in the office pero ayaw nya yung WEROAM. Ano po or saan po kaya magandang magsubscribe?

Hi Wombat,
Here’s a tip. Ask your neighbors what their internet connection is and if they’re happy with the connection.
Ibig sabihin, kung Smart Bro sila at may 5PCs silang connected (for example), at satisfactory naman ang connection nila, chances are, you will have a satisfactory internet connection too.
If your neighbor’s connection is Bayantel DSL or PLDT DSL, find out from them if they’re happy with the connection and the service.

cool lang kayo mga tol.. smartbro (ken) user din ako halos isang taon na. Sa tignin ko depende lang sa lugar yan. Tama nga na hindi porket 384kbps ang inaadvertise nila yun din ang makukuha mo. That is the maximum bandwith na kaya nilang ibigay para sa plan na php999.00 yun po yun. Dito sa pampanga wala akong problema sa smartbro (ken) im using their plan 999 internet connection pero nakakakuha ako ng 1.5mbps. Well, depende lang talaga sa lugar. Kaya kung nakakarinig kayo na pangit na ang service ng smart sa inyo?? eh bakit pa kayo magpapakabit.

Ganyan din nangyari sa PC ko, nawawala mga pictures sa Friendster, kala ko error sa friendster, tapos ilang araw ng ganun kaya naisip kong i-try ikabit ung internet connection ko sa old PC ko, at ayun mayron nman pictures sa friendster, so ang lumabas na problem ay ang computer, maybe infected ng virus, kaya format me ung new PC ko at ayun, mayron na ulit pictures sa friendster…

I was directed to this site on the last page of my “Quick Start” in the notices section.

I don”t see a place for doing that in this hodge-podge on stuff.

I’m rey from Cebu. Gusto ko lang malaman kung compatible ba ang smartbro para sa nintendo wii? Kahit anong try ko auto assing cya ng ip o magmanual ako sa console ko, ayaw pa rin kumonek. nareredirect sa smartbro portal?try mo po isupply yung hinihingi nila na details, service reference number and account number. naexperience ko na po yan dati, i called their helpdesk at ang sabi sa akin malamang daw nagclear daw ako ng internet history (na true). parang irereset daw sya.

I have just read the comments above if you are experiencing problems why not tell the following:
1) Where you are located
2) What time you are using the net
3) What were you doing
*Just saying that you ISP is bad is not informative at all. Put more information because you might not know who will be passing by and will be reading your posts. And who knows one of passer bys might be able to help you in your problems.

Simple basic thing to remember when using any ISP:
1) There are certain times called “peak hours” ALL ISP have and if you happen to use your ISP during this time then you should expect slow connection since many people are being served at the same time.
2) Downloading while browsing or while playing an online game WILL SURELY slow down your internet speed.

Before getting ANY the service of an ISP:
1) Survey around your area and check what internet services your neighbors use and ask them of the performance.
2) Check for Blogs and net reviews the ISP service you are about to get. But, when reading blog you must consider the good and the bad and assess. This will also help you prepare for the worst experience.
3) Talk to a ISP provider and ask the following:
– what are the after sales support available?
– what are the problems being encountered by your customers? (this one is usually shunned but if they do answer you will know that your ISP is honest enough to warn you that their service is not perfect and if you are lucky enough the ISP will already tell you the available options on how to cope with such problems.)
– what are the options available if you want to stop the service prior to the contract’s end?
– are there rebates?
* it is important not be afraid to ask questions because if you ask early you can avoid possible problems in the future
4) Do not get an ISP because of the promo!
Choosing an ISP because of a promo might lead to an informed decision to get an ISP service.
5) If an ISP is the only available in your area, do not immediately get it. try to consider 1-4. Look for other options, specially if the ISP that is available in your area has been reviewed as a poor service provider. Otherwise, brace yourself for the worst scenario.

I too had nagged about smartbro before…
It has its good and bad points…
I do experience slow net once and a while but i dont complain because i made an informed choice…
Aside from that, i am the one making QuickSolutions (formerly known as QuickFix)and trying to understand what are the problems that clients experience and id like to make the tool that will try to alleviate the problems encountered… going through blogs really is a tough task… reading people nag about no connection and slow connection really is frustrating me too… I want to know how the problem occurred so i can assess properly where the problem could have started and probably provide a solution… unfortunately, most of the blogs that i have run through are pure rants to voice out discontent and anger…
i was hoping people would try to share a more detailed narrative of their experiences so people can understand more and possibly provide better solutions…

SmartBro has a new policy about pc to net connection. If your net connection was installed in a pc it cant be used for another pc. Before, this wasnt the case but this policy was put so people cant use stolen antennas and stolen accounts.
I am not sure if this policy is implemented in all areas but I am sure this policy is now being implemeted.

I’ve reported my connection problem twice already. This is regarding my smart bro wherein eveytime I would like to get online I always encountered a problem regarding the connection. Sometimes I can’t connect but most of the times I can connect but after a while it will be lost. It is always like that since my smart bro was installed a month ago.

Guyz, we all have the same PROBS with ds SMARTBRO, i’m IT Support of DepEd in SAMAR. Talagang mabubwesit ka sa signal ng SMARTBRO. at di lang yun minsan nawawala ka pa sa portal,at mas worst kung di agad bumalik within that day ang connections mo, so pano na mga REPORTS of the OFFICE just like me i’m holding DepEd talgang buwesit ang SMART kya advice ko sa inyo mg GLOBE nlang taung lhat…mag pa DISCONNECT na kayo sa SMART. ano bayan lokohan yata sa smart nagbabayad kami ng 1000 kada buwan pero mas mabilis pa internet ng dial up. dinadaya nyo ang mga costumers nyo kung ganyan lang din. sa totoo lang pwede kau kasuhan ng breach of contract pati false advertising at misleading the public. paranf pagong ang internet nyo. namimis ko tuloy ung dial up ko. dahil sa inyo nalate ako ng pag lologin sa lasalle kung kaya nagkanda lecheleche ung schedule ng clases ko pati na fine tuloy dahil sa late enrollment. dapat sa inyo pa imbestigahan at pa demanda nag sasama ninyo. niloloko nyo kami.

wui smart bro! bakit ganun? Sa lola ko yung linya na okay pa bat nung naputul ang linya nila dahil hindi naka bayad…paglipas ng ilang weeks naka bayad na sila at binalik na ang internet….peru merun nang problema palaging nawawala ang internet nila or signal…naka connect cya peru walang internet…

How about checking out your equipment on the tower. In wet weather every time a truck goes down the highway it disconnects. It a real pain in the bum having to clear my screen and restart my browser again each time it disconnects.
Dry weather and no trucks its brilliant. Bit for the last week it has been absolute crap. Reckon you should pay US to use it.
Looks like a typical Philippine thing of take the money and to hell with the customer to me.

Hello fuh I just installed Smartbro Quickfix 2.1 a minute earlier and I’m having problem on registering or activating my account.
I believe I provided the correct information but still I’m receiving this message after sending “Server Unreachable” then it comes “server timeout please try again later”? I can’t even use the software.
I have had problem on my bro connection since last day when it almost impossible to connect to the internet, It always displayed “Request Timeout”. And it connects again after a few hours and giving a 4k MS?? wtf..

then.. its happening again… i’m at camarin caloocan area.. even the smart plug in’s have a prob.. OMG!!! even DSL wahhhh… grabehh you should limit only the subscribers in a certain area.. the CSR told me that my connection is not directly connected to me… i’m not that techy pero you should be consistent with your old subscribers… di n nga ako ngrereklamo sa bilis (este sa bagal) ng connection nyo miske may time n sobrang bagal ng connection. pero un na didisconnect ako sa isang Online game radomnly ay iba n un… hassle n ito di n maganda ang nangyayari d2… may iba p me option para maayos to? globe suck also but i haven’t tried the SUN… hope you can do something about this matter ASAP.. thanks
