Smart Bro Share It WiFi Router – Internet for Many
March 12th, 2009 | by ka edong |Smart Bro came out with it’s latest product, the Smart Bro Share It WiFi Router.
The device is a GSM WiFi modem that receives the Smart Bro Internet signal and re-distributes it via Wireless Fidelity.
Smart Bro Share It is the newewst Smart BRO broadband internet product that allows you to share your broadband access to the other computers in your home network via the WiFi technology or wired LAN! The Smart BRO Broadband router is a small device that you can purchase over-the-counter at any Smart Wireless Center or through the accreditted Smart Bro Resellers.
What’s it for? The product is targetted for households. With one Smart Bro Share It device, multiple WiFi-enabled laptops will be able to access the Internet.
Usable range is around 30 meters which is good for a studio house up to a big house with around 3 or 4 rooms.
This will work well in our Baguio home. I usually connect in Baguio using Plug It, but couldn’t share my connection with my brother’s laptop.
Smart Bro is also a solution I would recommend to my friend Tito Kokoy for his hotel, Chalet Tepeyac in Baguio (story tomorrow: Internet Access Solution where there isn’t any).
From the Smart Bro flyer
How much will it cost to avail of the Smart Bro Share It?
- One-time Router Fee: P2,5000
- 1st Month subscription fee: P999
- Total initial payment: P3,4999
- Monthly Service Fee: P999
Rate per use
- Free 90 hours per month on actual per minute charging
- In excess of the Free 90 hours, you will be charged P0.35/min

Cool idea. Now, I’m waiting for other manufacturers to release an HSDPA ready routers. I’d rather have that so that I can “plug in” whether prepaid, or postpaid, Smart of Globe sim cards. Cool?

tanong ko lang po for technically challenged saan ba puede install ung router kahit saan ba? saan nakadirect ung signal sa cellsite? kasi baka walang signal.

By ka edong on May 12, 2009 | Reply
@ Glenn,
suggest: Borrow a Smart Bro router or Smart Bro plug-it from a friend, bring it to your location and test it.
That’s a good measure of how good your signal is at your location.

try ko po mga questions nyo:
1. Unlimited po ang internet usage ng shareit, 2Mbps ang bandwidth. Initial cashout po ng P3500 (p2500 for the router P999 for the initial monthly fee)
2.as long na may HSDPA signal pwede po ang shareit. pwede po me magdala ng demo unit sa inyo para ma test natin yung signal sa place nyo.
3.isa lng po available for wired connection(pero pwede po kayo mag link ng another switch for multiple wired connection). pero mas mganda po ang performance nya up to 5 pc.
4.pwede po i configure yung shareit for security password and incase malimutan pwede nyo sya i reset.
You may text me at 0929 1711 777 for more infos.

News Flash Plug it Now 995
The Smart BRO USB modem is a small, palm-sized device that you can carry with you wherever you go. And anytime you need to surf, just plug it into the USB port of your PC, and you’ll get connected in a flash. Total initial payment is P995 with FREE 5 Hours of internet surfing. Broadband Internet use is P10 for every 30 minutes.
Smart Bro Prepaid kit NOW costs P995 which already includes a USB modem and a SIM card. It already has a P100 preloaded broadband load which can be used up to 5 hours of high-speed broadband internet use.

Ping sucks, online gamers wont join my games and they kick me when I try to join them because of hi ping/latency. Not for gamers! I get good downloads sometimes. I sometimes get 2mbps at 3AM to 4AM in the morning, and less 50kbps the rest of the day. Weekends are worst. I could barely open facebook!

Smart is one of the WORST and most CORRUPT companies in the world. Their advertising is FALSE. Their internet infrastructure is not properly equipped to provide true HSPA internet at ful speeds. I have a shareit router for 6 months now. The base station here has been BROKEN for a full 35 DAYS! All I get from the call center support is excuses and apologies.
I’m ready to smash this damned router with a hammer and bring it to the smart service center. I will place the pile of rubbish on their desk and LOUDLY proclaim that SMARTBRO SUCKS and I QUIT! Let them try to sue me for breach of contract- it was THEY who breached it by NOT PROVIDING SERVICE.
If you are considering the shareit router, DON’T DO IT! They didn’t even beta test it- that is what they are doing now, and CHARGING FULL rates to do it. As anybody knows, beta testing is NOT TO BE CHARGED for, it’s only for testing purposes. But Smart is so fucking greedy they will gladly steal your money as if you are a cash cow
